DBT Assist was developed by the Australian DBT Institute's Clinical & Faculty Lead, Peter King Ph.D.
Peter originally developed DBT Assist for his own use when providing individual therapy and skills development to mental health professionals via Skype. Peter used the DBT Assist platform to teach mental health professionals DBT skills using his DBT-TI approach. Following discussion with his colleagues, Peter released the DBT Assist platform to his colleagues at the Australian DBT Institute to support their clients acquisition and use of DBT Skills.
DBT Assist is an evolving platform that is currently being evaluated by Southern Cross University as part of a research initiative with the Australian DBT Institute.
