    What you are going to learn

    Emotion Regulation Skills

    This group explores the function of emotions and a range of resources for managing extreme emotions. This program has been developed for adults over 18 years of age seeking to learn DBT skills in a group setting! This 9 week module is part of a full 27 DBT program that complements individual therapy sessions!

    Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) is a type of behavioural therapy. DBT's main goals are to teach individuals how to live in the moment, develop healthy ways to cope with stress, regulate emotions, and improve their relationships with others.

    You will learn:

    • A range of DBT skills to manage emotions
    • A model for describing emotions
    • Strategies to reduce emotional vulnerability
    • Skills to manage emotions before they become intense or overwhelming
    • Explore pleasant events and opportunities in everyday life

    Erick and Katie are Credentialed DBT Skills Trainers from Essentia Health on the Gold Coast. Participants can join this in person from Essentia Health's group room in Southport QLD.
